NSA EVENTS
International Cultural Cafe
Nepalese Student Association hosted International Cultural Cafe in collaboaration with International Cultural Center (ICC) on Thursday, August 27, 2020. It was the first international cultural cafe of the Fall semester. The event was organized remotely via zoom considering the social distancing guidelines by the university. The event was hosted by Ishwor Poudel and NSA executive committee team including Tarkraj Giri, Bibek Sapkota and Lokesh Silwal. There were performances from Suman Budathoki, Aashutosh Mishra and Sujan Gautam. We appreciate ICC for providing this opportunity to conduct this event. NSA Holi Celebration 2020
Nepalese Students Association, Auburn University celebrated Holi festival in Sam Harris Park on March 08, 2020. Holi is a popular festival of colors celebrated in Nepal and India every year on March. NSA annually organizes Holi event with an outside barbeque among NSA members from Auburn and Tuskegee area. We had a good level of participation this year as the event was organized at the time of Spring break.
NSA Tihar Celebration 2019
Also known as Dipawali/ Diwali “Festival of Lights and Happiness“, NSA family celebrated Deusi Bhailo program on October 26, 2019. Deusi is the form of celebration in which NSA executive committee members and interested NSA members, upon invitation, visit the NSA families in Auburn and sing,dance and wishes for the health and prosperity of the family. The host families welcome the group with their warm hospitality,delicious food and donations. NSA team led by Ishwor Poudel, Krishna Khanal and friends visited NSA-Auburn families and celebrated the festival of light together this year with lot of wonderful memories.
NSA Dashain 2019
Nepalese Students Association, Auburn University celebrated Dashain in Student Center on October 12,2019. Dashain is one of the most auspicious festivals celebrated in Nepal for two weeks during Sept-Oct annually. According to Hindu Mythology, the victory of good over evil is celebrated during this festival. NSA also elected a newer executive committee for year 2019-2020. The committee comprises Ishwor Poudel (President), Bibek Sapkota (Secretary), Tarkaraj Giri (Vice President of Publicity and outreach), Pratima Subedi (Treasurer) and Aashutosh Aman Mishra (Cultural Affairs Officer). We wish a very successful upcoming year for the newly elected executive committee.
NSA Holi Celebration 2019
Nepalese Students Association, Auburn University celebrated Holi festival in Sam Harris Park on March 16, 2019. NSA members from Auburn and Tuskegee met to enjoy the festival of colors and joy. Holi is a vibrant festival of love and colors and celebrated every year during March by people in Nepal and India. NSA celebrates Holi every year as a closed event with NSA members with an outside barbeque.
NSA Tihar Celebration 2018
NSA family celebrated Deusi Bhailo program on November 9, 2018. NSA team led by Megha Shrestha, Ishwor Poudel and friends visited NSA-Auburn host families and celebrated the festival of light together. The team was welcomed with Nepalese cordiality and delicious Nepalese dishes. We also raised some funds for NSA events for upcoming year.
